PDQ INSPECTOR : A HIGH-END DATA QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTION TOOL OF 3D CAD MODELS ACCORDING TO A SET OF PRE-DETERMINED QUALITY CRITERIA.

Product Data Quality (PDQ) Inspector is a high-end data quality control tool, which allows you to inspect you 3D CAD models according to a set of pre-determined quality criteria. This product was designed originally to meet the data quality control needs of the leading automotive industry alliances such as SASIG (Strategic Automotive Product Data Standard Industry Group www.sasig-pdq.org). With PDQ Inspector you will enhance the quality assurance of your supply chain. PDQ Inspector is a plug-in of ModelScan, a powerful viewer of CAD files with very useful additional functions, that was developed as a part of the COSMOS European Project.

Why PDQ Inspector?

  • With PDQ Inspector you are independent of all CAD systems i.e. you do not need to learn a new interface for each file format.
  • You can check your CAD models according to internationally accepted SASIG. (www.sasig-pdq.org) standards.
  • PDQ Inspector can be customized to your specific environment.
  • Its user-friendly interface helps you find your way through this highly technical matter.
  • PDQ Inspector is a PC solution which also provides you with easy to use visualization.
  • A whole range of products is also available with PDQ Inspector
    • 3D Doctor to repair 3D models.
    • 3D Surf to complement your design.

With PDQ Inspector, you will enjoy……

…… the benefits of Product Data Quality check tools

  • High quality CAD-data ensures high quality communication.
  • Detect errors as early as possible, they will cost you less money.
  • Accelerate your time to market.
......high quality communication

During the whole supply chain process manufacturers need to get maximum benefit from the quite expensive 3D CAD models. This means reusing the same model in very different contexts during the whole manufacturing process. This is one of the reasons why the ability of high quality data exchange becomes one of the crucial points in exploiting CAD models. Be sure of your model quality. The increased quality accelerates your time to market and at the same time enhances your reassurance in your supply chain.

......independence

PDQ Inspector is used independently of a CAD/CAM system and does not require any expertise in using tricky CAD software. This avoids changing the Graphical User Interface every time you use a different file format.

......better adaptation to your environment

PDQ Inspector provides you with predefined configurations according to the criteria of the different Data-Quality Standards. Each tolerance value can be edited manually. This way, you can adapt the configurations to your particular requirements. Of course you can save your customized configurations.

......easy of use

A user-friendly interface helps you find your way through this highly technical matter. The result of checking is displayed as an Explorer Tree and can be saved as a text file. The invalid objects detected by PDQ Inspector are highlighted in the graphical Window when clicking on the object in the PDQ Inspector Explorer. To avoid long computing times when they are not really necessary, all the criteria can be checked independently.

......the ability to check and repair your models

PDQ Inspector is one part of a complete range of interoperable software-modules.
You can adapt the size of your solution exactly to your needs. The basic version allows to read, visualize and analyze most common standards and native file formats.
